Michigan Procurement
Leads University Course

This fall, Michigan CPO Jared Ambrosier and his colleague, Sharon Walenga-Maynard, lead a one-credit-hour course, Procurement Contracting, at Michigan State University.

Students learned about the basics of contracting, including needs analysis, terms and conditions, negotiations, and monitoring contract performance.

Jared Ambrosier said, "The State of Michigan and Michigan State University have worked to increase the awareness of public procurement for the last few years. We are grateful for the opportunity to increase the familiarity of public procurement for Supply Chain students using real-life examples such as the Flint Water Crisis and insourcing of food for the Michigan Department of Corrections. We hope this will lead to future consideration of public procurement as a potential career path."
