Managing the closeout of the contract is the final step of the procurement cycle. Beyond final payment made, contract closeout and retirement focuses on the completion of all reports, commodities or services received and accepted throughout the lifecycle of the contract. Obsolete or excess property, commonly referred to as surplus property, is also managed in this step of the procurement process.
