NASPO and NASCA Partner on Paper
LEXINGTON, Ky. (November 17, 2014) — The National Association of State Procurement Officials (NASPO) and the National Association of State Chief Administrators (NASCA) recently partnered to educate and promote a deeper understanding of procurement and administrative functions in state government with the release of “Working Together: Procurement as a Partner.”
This co-branded work product promotes the benefits of Chief Administrators and Chief Procurement Officials working together to achieve creative procurement solutions, leveraging buying power, and engaging early in strategic project planning.
Mike Huebsch, NASCA’s President and Wisconsin’s Secretary for the Department of Administration said, “Collaborating with NASPO is significant to NASCA because the partnership helps to provide our members with the knowledge and the tools for effectiveness and efficiency in state government procurement.”
NASPO President Deb Damore is pleased with the outcome of the paper and sees continued
collaborative efforts in the association’s future with designated NASCA liaison James Staton. “NASPO’s mission is to promote best practices and innovative procurement strategies,” said Damore, “and we appreciate the opportunity to work with NASCA on this piece which outlines the benefits of working in tandem”.
