NASPO Hosts Procurement Tabletop Exercise

Organization Brings Together Over 20 Stakeholders to Participate in Scenario-Based Learning

Lexington, KY – Today and tomorrow (May 18-19, 2021), the National Association of State Procurement Officials (NASPO) will host a COVID Response Procurement Tabletop Exercise that brings together over 20 different strategic partners, including state and federal officials, multiple universities, suppliers, and government associations. This event, designed to create a Decision Framework, will take place in Nashville, TN, with attendees also joining remotely.

This two-day exercise consists of scenarios and supplemental discussion around COVID-19 response lessons learned to date. These discussions will form a COVID Response Decision Framework foundation to better prepare for future emergency response. The framework’s goals include identifying essential strategic partners and response roles, developing communication channels and networks, documentation of shared resources, and critical supply chain manufacturers or substitutes.

NASPO will develop future training exercises to test the response plans generated during this event.
